It’s been a while since I’ve made a vlog post. In this post, I give a quick recap of my summer, and what I did the few days I was back home from school.

I never found the best way to attach my Flip camcorder to my bike…and my bike is toast anyway. But I did find an awesome way to attach the Flip inside my car, so you guys will get the next best thing – car vlogs.
In this vlog post, I talk about my plans for the summer and do a little driving on some twisties near my house. I’m driving Baxter, my 08 Mitsubishi Eclipse. Fun fact: my car is an automatic transmission, but I have a weird habit of resting my right hand on the shifter.
This could be the start of a car vlog series, although I’ll have a few weeks to do them.

This will be a quick post, because I’m working on my Music paper right now. As you may already know, I got my Flip camcorder back. Last semester, I had a series of video logs (vlogs) while riding my bike.
However, the footage was always bumpy because I attached my Flip to a tripod taped on my bike. It’s taken the entire year, but yesterday, I suddenly had a brilliant idea of attaching the Flip to my shirt.
It involves a paperclip.
Anyway, I will (hopefully) have new footage up tomorrow. I did a test run today and there are still some kinks to work out. In the meantime, check out my YouTube channel mstrglen to see what to expect.
I promise my vlogs will no longer induce nausea and motion sickness.
Bike vlog links soon at randomtidbitsofthought.wordpress.com.
Yay! I’m finally starting my video logs once again. This is the segment where I get to talk about whatever I feel at the moment while riding my bicycle.
I started bike vlogging after watching and subscribing to some YouTube motorcycle vloggers. They would vlog with a camera attached to their helmets, so I thought it would be cool if I could do something similar on my bicycle. I have to give a shout-out to shockofgod and rebelyell91 for inspiring me with this idea.
I’ve been experimenting with the best way to attach a Flip camcorder to my bicycle for a while now. I still haven’t found the ideal method. I’ve tried taping a mini-tripod to the handlebars, which is the method I’d used for my vlogs last semester. I just had a thought involving a rubber band and backpack strap. I’ll keep you guys updated on how that one goes.
Anyway, in this vlog, I talk about the rain at Berkeley and show you guys one of the heavier showers. Seriously, it was raining sheets out of nowhere. But by the time I started to film, the rain had died down a bit. Please bear with me as I figure out how to use WordPress video. But definitely check out this link to my newest vlog. Enjoy!

Hey everyone! Hell week is over, and I’m looking forward to a very relaxing week. VITA Part 2 was a success. It was a lot more chill today…we filed taxes for one family per group and headed back early.
Julia and I held our committee meeting for ABA Pubs, and Jay, James, and I went apartment hunting afterward and ran into a homeless lady on the sidewalk foaming at the mouth and requiring medical attention. Emergency help came, everything was sorted out, and a blog post will follow with more details of the ordeal.
I want to write about blogging – what got me into blogging, what I expect from it, and how I want to run my blog to interest my readers and myself more.
This week, for the first time since I’ve started the blog back in January, I’ve run into someone I knew everyday of the week telling me that they read or enjoyed my blog. This has really encouraged me, because I wasn’t expecting many people to go out of their way to read my random ramblings.
I’m also more motivated to put out more quality stuff, things that will interest you and help you to learn more about my life and the world.
Why did I start blogging? I’ve always enjoyed writing, as it was something that came much more naturally to me than speaking. When I write, my thoughts flow smoothly into words, and I’m able to express myself clearly. When I speak, especially for speeches, I have a tough time gathering my thoughts and having others understand what I’m really thinking about.
After I stopped writing for The Daily Cal (I switched to the ads department) last semester, I wanted to continue to write. Blogging was the perfect way. It was a versatile medium where I could write about pretty much anything, whatever my mood or available time dictated.
I initially didn’t know what to expect. I figured blogging would be a good chance to just write and document my life’s events, but it’s become much more than that. It’s become an outlet, something I can do to get my mind off a tough day, express an opinion that I would fail to convey if I were to give a speech on it, or just to share things that I enjoy.
It means a lot that people are having a positive response to my blog, and it makes me want to do an even better job. It also gives me the opportunity to experiment with WordPress’s poll system.
Now it’s your turn. If you read and/or enjoy my blog, drop by and leave a comment. It could be on Facebook, the WordPress website, wherever. I would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions. I’m also putting up a poll on WordPress that asks what you want to read more about. Check it out it randomtidbitsofthought.wordpress.com.
I also plan to resume my bicycle video logs very soon. I’ve gotten requests for it, and I recently bought a new camcorder mount for my bike. Keep a lookout for those!
In the meantime, I will continue to blog to my heart’s content, and I hope you’ll continue to read my posts.
Thanks for reading randomTIDBITSofthought.
